Hyde Wyndham Beadon
BEADON, Hyde Wyndham. b. Wells, Somerset, 1 May 1812; d. Latton, Cricklade, Wiltshire, 12 May 1891. He was educated at Eton and St John’s College, Cambridge (BA 1835, MA 1839). He took Holy Orders (deacon 1836 priest 1837) and was vicar of Haslebury-Prickett, near Crewkerne (1837-69), and vicar of Latton with Eisey (1869-91), Rural Dean of Cricklade and Honorary Canon of Bristol Cathedral (1869). He was co-editor, with Greville Phillimore* and James Russell Woodford*, of The Parish Hymn Book (1863, enlarged 1875), in which three of his hymns and one translation appeared:
‘Fierce was the storm of wind’
‘Glory to Thee, O Lord’ (see ‘All praise to Thee, O Lord’*)
‘The Son of Man shall...
