Hugh Thomas Henry
HENRY, Hugh Thomas. b. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 27 November 1862; d. Jessup, Pennsylvania, 12 March 1946. He was educated at La Salle College and trained for the priesthood at St Charles Seminary, Overbrook, Pennsylvania (ordained 1889). He was a teacher at the Seminary from 1889 to 1917, serving also as rector of the Catholic High School for Boys, Philadelphia (1902-1919). He was professor of homiletics at the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. (1919-37). He was awarded an honorary LittD. by the University of Pennsylvania in 1902.
He edited a periodical, Church Music, from 1905 to 1914. Among his many publications were two for preachers, Hints to Preachers (1924) and Papers...
