Henry Bittleston
BITTLESTON, Henry. b. London, 25 September 1818; d. St Albans, 2 July 1886. He was educated at St John’s College, Oxford (BA 1841, MA 1845). He took Holy Orders, becoming curate of Leamington Priors, Warwickshire, and of Margaret Chapel, London (later All Saints, Margaret Street). He was converted to Roman Catholicism, and became a member of the Birmingham Oratory under John Henry Newman*.
