Gerard Moultrie
MOULTRIE, Gerard. b. Rugby, Warwickshire, 16 September 1829; d. South Leigh, near Oxford, 25 April 1885. He was the son of a clergyman, John Moultrie (for whom see JJ, p. 772) and educated at Rugby School and Exeter College, Oxford (BA 1851, MA, 1856). He was a master at Shrewsbury School (1852-55) and took Holy Orders (deacon 1853, priest 1858), becoming chaplain to the Dowager Marchioness of Londonderry (1855-64), chaplain of the Donative [Benefice] of Barrow Gurney, Somerset (1864-69), and vicar of South Leigh, near Oxford, from 1869 until his death.
