Georgios Rhaidestenos
Georgios Rhaidestenos. Flourished ca 1600-1650. He was taught by Melchisedek Rhaidestenos. Georgios developed a distinct personal style mainly in his sticheraria. This style was taken up and continued by his pupil Chrysaphes the Younger*. Georgios worked as lampadarios at the Cathedral of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople (1619-29) and was appointed protopsaltes in 1638.
