For the healing of the nations. Frederik Herman Kaan* (1929-2009). First sung in 1965 at the Pilgrim Church, Plymouth, of which Fred Kaan was minister, at a service on Human Rights Day (10 December). It was first published in the author’s Pilgrim Praise (1968), and was immediately taken up by 100HfT in 1969, and thus in A&MNS. It has since become widely known, and has been sung on some great public occasions, such as the service in 1970 in Geneva Cathedral to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
