Father, we love you
Father, we love you (Glorify Thy Name). Donna Adkins* (1940- ).
Written and composed in 1976, this splendid Trinitarian hymn has become very popular, and is found in many modern books. It was inspired by reading John 17, and it is perhaps better known by its title, ‘Glorify Thy Name’, reflecting the theme of that chapter. Hymnary.org reports that it was first published in a small booklet for a pastor’s conference in 1977, and then by Maranatha! Music in Praise 5: Glorify Thy Name (Costa Mesa, California, 1981).
