Father, see thy children bending at thy throne. William Henry Hammond Jervois* (1852-1905) and William Bouverie Trevelyan (1853-1929). This hymn was first published, with a refrain (which has not been seen: the editors would welcome a transcript) in Additional Hymns with Tunes, Intended for use with any other Church Hymnal (1903), and then, without the refrain, in EH (1906), of which Jervois was one of the editorial committee until his death. The collaboration was signalled by initials in recognition of Trevelyan’s part, ‘W.H.H.
