Father, let me dedicate. Lawrence Tuttiett* (1825-1897).
First published in Tuttiett’s Germs of Thought on the Sunday Special Services: being the harmonized teaching of the Collect, Epistle, Gospel, and First Lessons. Advent to Easter (1864). It was included in the Second Edition of A&M (1875) as a hymn for New Year’s Day, with a specially commissioned tune by Sir George Alexander Mcfarren:
Father, let me dedicate All this year to Thee,In whatever worldly state Thou wilt have me be:Not from sorrow, pain, or care, Freedom dare I claim;This alone shall be my prayer, Glorify Thy Name.
