Eternal Spirit of the living Christ. Frank Von Christierson* (1900-1996).
This hymn was printed on the front cover of The Hymn 25/1, January 1974, with the suggested tune ELLERS. It has subsequently appeared in many books, including the Lutheran Book of Worship (1978) and H82. Its expression of quiet steadfastness is well captured in the rhythm of the graceful verses. Stulken (1981, p. 471) quotes Von Christierson as describing his hymn as
