Eileen M. Johnson
JOHNSON, Eileen M. b. Eatontown, New Jersey, 9 November 1960. Her parents, Leonard V. Johnson and Chong Sun Chong, met during the Korean War, and she spent her early years on military bases in New Jersey and Alaska. Johnson studied at Westminster Choir College (now Westminster Choir College of Rider University) Princeton, New Jersey (BMus, summa cum laude, 1983), Concordia University River Forest (now Concordia University, Chicago), River Forest, Illinois (MCM, 1992; master’s thesis ‘No Single Holy Name: God Imagery in Later 20th Century Hymnody’); with further studies at Bethany Theological Seminary, Oak Brook, Illinois.
