Donald S. Marsh
MARSH, Donald Stuart. b. Akron, Ohio, 5 September 1923; d. Santa Fe, New Mexico, 10 April 2010. Donald Marsh was the musician of the Avery & Marsh duo that in the late 1960s and into the 1990s significantly energized traditional and emerging worship forms and congregational singing. They did this through their church conferences and regional and national assemblies, including thirty summers leading contemporary religious music seminars at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Donald’s early years were spent in Singapore, and Sumatra, Indonesia, where his father Clarence Marsh, Sr. was an accountant for rubber plantations. Marsh attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College),...
