Deane Edwards

EDWARDS, Deane. b. St Paul, Minnesota, 31 March 1885; d. Rye, New York, 3 July 1970. Deane Edwards was a descendant of Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758), one of New England's most eminent Puritan clergymen and third president of Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey. He received the BA from Princeton in 1906, and attended Auburn Theological Seminary, New York City (BD, 1912). He was awarded the seminary’s first alumni fellowship, which provided an additional year of post-graduate study and travel in Glasgow, Oxford, and Paris.
