David Scott Hamnes
David Scott Hamnes (PhD) is senior advisor in hymnology, liturgy and church music for the Church Council of the Church of Norway. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, he emigrated to Norway in 1994. He teaches in the Department of music at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), is head of the Trondheim organ school, and director of music at Ilen parish church, Trondheim. His research interests include reception studies, minorities in hymnody, die neue Sachlichkeit and musicology, and music education. He serves as the Nordic Regional Editor for the present work.
