David Ashley White
WHITE, David Ashley, b. San Antonio, Texas, 1944. White studied at Del Mar College, the University of Houston, and the University of Texas at Austin, earning degrees in oboe performance and composition. He is director of the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where he has taught theory and composition since 1978, and holds the Margaret M. Alkek and Margaret Alkek Williams Endowed Chair. His secular and sacred compositions are widely performed and published.
