Community of Christ hymnody
Historical background
Community of Christ is an international Christian denomination with approximately 250,000 members in more than 50 countries. Until 2001, the denomination, which has its headquarters in Independence, Missouri, was known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly abbreviated as ‘RLDS’). The church shares a common beginning with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (‘LDS’), founded in 1830 by Joseph Smith, Jr. (1805-1844).
