Charles Busbridge Snepp

SNEPP, Charles Busbridge. b. Great Alne, Birmingham, 1824; d. Perry Barr, Birmingham, 1880 (buried 29 June). Snepp was educated at Caius College, Cambridge, where he read law (BA 1846; LLB 1850; LLM 1861). He took Holy Orders (deacon 1846, priest 1847). He married Julia Ann Winfield: the Snepps were close friends of Frances Ridley Havergal*, with whom they made a tour of Switzerland in 1873 (Bugden, 2007). During this holiday Snepp probably saved FRH’s life when she was glissading on the descent from the Grands Mulets on Mont Blanc (M.V.G.H, 1881, p. 122).
