Carol Doran
DORAN, Carol Ann. b. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 11 November 1936; d. North Andover, Massachusetts, 2 November 2023. A distinguished musician, composer, organist, director of choirs, teacher, historian and scholar, Doran earned both the Doctor of Musical Arts (1970) and the Master of Music (1962) at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York. Her organ study there was with David Craighead (1924-2012). She served as a tenured professor of church music and chapel organist at The Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, and at Bexley Hall in Rochester, New York, and has taught at the Eastman School of Music (in the University of Rochester, New York), the Episcopal Divinity...
