Called as partners in Christ’s service. Jane Parker Huber* (1926-2008).
Written in 1981 for a ‘women’s breakfast’ at the 193rd General Assembly of the United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America (which became the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1983), and published in Huber’s A Singing Faith (1981). It is concerned with the partnerships between men and women in Christ’s service, but then extends this to include (stanza 2) ‘men and women, richer, poorer,/ All God’s people, young and old’.
