Brian Arthur Wren

WREN, Brian Arthur. b. Romford, Essex, 3 June 1936. He was educated at the Royal Liberty (Grammar) School, Romford. After National Service (1955-57), he read Modern Languages at New College, Oxford (BA 1960) and Theology at Mansfield College, Oxford (BA 1962). He was awarded the Oxford DPhil in 1968 for a thesis on ‘The Language of Prophetic Eschatology in the Old Testament’. Ordained in 1965, he served as minister of Hockley and Hawkwell Congregational Church in his native Essex (1965-70).
