Bernard Stanford Massey

MASSEY, Bernard Stanford. b. Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, 22 June 1927; d. Redhill, Surrey, 28 October 2011. He was educated at Watford Boys’ Grammar School and Queen Mary College, University of London. From 1952 to 1984 he was successively Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader, and Tutor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, University College, London; he was the author of three text-books. Massey was the editor of the Bulletin of the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland from 1975 to 2001, and again from 2003 to 2004, contributing many scholarly articles and reviews himself.
