Benjamin Brody
BRODY, Benjamin. b. Portland, Oregon, 2 May 1975. Benjamin Brody, a composer, hymn writer, church musician, and educator, is son of Clark Brody and Barbara Brody (née Finsaas), and one of three siblings. The son of a music teacher and grandson of a pastor, his first experiences in music took place singing together with his family in the car or around the piano at home. He was nurtured in the charismatic tradition. He received his education at Whitworth College, Spokane, Washington, in Music Education and Church Music (BME, 1998), and at the University of Washington, Seattle, in Choral Conducting (MM, 2003; DMA, 2007).
