Auf, auf, mein Herz, mit Freuden nimm wahr. Paul Gerhardt* (1607-1676). This joyful Easter hymn was first published in Johann Crüger*’s Praxis Pietatis Melica (1648), with the title ‘Auferstehungs-Gesang’ (‘Resurrection Hymn’). It had nine 8-line stanzas.
