As men of old their first-fruits brought. Frank von Christierson* (1900-1996). Written in 1960, and submitted to a ‘hymn search’ of the Hymn Society of America together with the Department of Stewardship and Benevolence of the National Council of Churches in America. It was published in the Hymn Society’s booklet, Ten New Stewardship Hymns (1961). Von Christierson wrote of this hymn:
