Alexander Schreiner

SCHREINER, Alexander. b. Steinbühl, a suburb of Nürnberg (Nuremberg), Bavaria, Germany, 31 July 1901; Salt Lake City, Utah, 15 September 1987.  Schreiner was associated with the Mormon Tabernacle as an organ recitalist for many years and was the Chief Organist during 1965-1987.  As a member of the General Music Committee of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), he assisted in the preparation of the 1948 LDS hymnal, which includes 10 of his hymn tunes.
