Albert Hay Malotte
MALOTTE, Albert Hay. b. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19 May 1895; d. Hollywood, California, 16 November 1964. He is known primarily as the composer of ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ (see Malotte's Lord's Prayer*), found in several hymnals with tune name MALOTTE.
The 1910 US Federal Census indicates that Malotte’s father, Charles William Malotte (1874-1953), was the son of John B. Malott (without an e), born in France. Charles owned a bookbindery in Philadelphia; his name and company occur in Philadelphia directories as early as 1905 and continue until the family moved to Los Angeles in 1929.
