“Remember me,” the Savior said. Nathaniel Langdon Frothingham* (1793-1870).
This was entitled ‘Communion Hymn’. Its first publications recorded in Hymnary.org were in the American Unitarian Association’s Hymns for the Sanctuary (Boston, 1849) and its Hymn Book for Christian Worship (1854), the latter edited by Howard Chandler Robbins*. In Frothingham’s Metrical Pieces, Original and Translated (Boston, 1855) it was Hymn XIV, preceded by two quotations, ‘Do this in remembrance of me’ and ‘How he was known to them in breaking of bread’.
