Tom Porter
PORTER, Thomas J. b. Bismarck, North Dakota, 4 September 1958. Tom Porter is a Catholic composer and choral director. His earliest musical instruction was at Saint Joseph’s School in Mandan, North Dakota, where received lessons in piano and general music from the Sisters of Annunciation Monastery. He received degrees from the University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota (BA in Music Performance, 1979), DePaul University (MM in Performance, 1980), the University of Notre Dame (MA in Theology/Liturgical Studies, 1986), and the University of Missouri, Kansas City (DMA in Choral Conducting, 2000).
