Michael Saward
SAWARD, Michael John. b. Blackheath, London, 14 May 1932; d. Switzerland, 31 January 2015. Educated at Eltham College, Bristol University and Tyndale Hall, Bristol. From 1949-52 he worked in an office, followed by National Service. Ordained in 1956, he served curacies at Croydon (1956-59) and Edgware (1959-64). He was Warden of Holy Trinity Inter-Church Centre, Liverpool (1964-67); the Church of England’s Radio and TV Officer (1967-72); incumbent of Fulham (1972-78), and Ealing (1978-91) (Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral, London, 1985-91). He was Canon Residentiary and Canon Treasurer of St Paul’s from 1991 to 2000, followed by retirement in Wapping, London, and then Bromley, Kent. For...
